Original Source: handwritten 3x5" index card in mom's kitchen

Ingredients:
1 cup softened butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
confectioner's sugar

Instructions
Cream butter, 1/2 to 1 cup confectioner's sugar, vanilla, and salt until fluffy
Stir in flour until well blended
Chill 30 minute until firm enough to handle

Preheat oven to 375F
Shape into 1" balls and place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet
Bake at 375F for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden

Remove onto wire rack.
While still warm, toss 2-3 cookies in a plastic bag with confectioner's sugar. Be careful not to melt the bag
